Trade up or build up question
Hey Folks -
I'm trying to decide whether to trade in my 2008 Street Glide with 30,000 miles for a sweet low mileage (3200 miles) CVO Spiced Rum Street Glide or have something like a JIMS 131 or SE 120 R installed in my current bike. The CVO will be more out pocket money for me, but the motor upgrade will provide better performance...I think. Any thoughts on helping me make this decision. My wife just picked up a 2006 SE Fatboy in Autumn Haze with 600 miles on it and I got bitten by the bug after she let me take it out for a spin. That bike moves!
Thanks

I put myself in a similar situation last December. I was going to trade my '08 Street Glide in on a '13 CVO Road Glide. The more I thought about it, the more my bike looked better. For one, $33K is a big chunk of change and two, someone else would have the very same bike. I decided to keep my bike, put some nice wheels and CVO bags on it. Did a sound system upgrade and now have a one off Street Glide that no one else in the world has. I plan to do a motor upgrade next winter.
If faced with the same situation again, I'd do what I did and keep my bike. Now, if you have disposable cash and feel like spending more money on top of the purchase of the CVO to make it yours, then go for it.
Just my .02 cents!

You'll likely get more for the CVO bike when you decide to part with it than you will with your bike with upgrades. Historically CVO bikes have held their value very well, better than most models. Of course it's your money, your decision. Just thought I'd offer this up.
Good luck with your decision.
