Looking to get a used tour pack older one without all the lights on the rear. Does anyone know if it will fit a 09 SG with quick detach kit. Or if that don't make sense will a 09SG quick detach kit bolt wholes match a 96-08 tour pack. Thanks

 

The bolt holes don't line up and the two mounts are different, 08 and earlier were tubular and 09 and later are flat. Just mark out new holes on an older tour pack and drill em out. Fill the old holes with silicone and you're golden. Nobody looks at the bottom of the tour pack anyway.

 

That's what I did and it works just fine. My tour pak is off a 07 EGC and it's now on my 12 SG. Now I just need to get it painted...

 

as above, a quick drill session.

the quick detach works best if you are on/off regularly.

if you are thinking on for a trip, then off when home a couple times a year...the stock style tourpak rack only takes about 30 minutes to bolt on or off.

and costs alot less...buy a take off from someone with a detachable kit
