Question think its time for new SG

I am seriously thinking of upgrading my 06 Cobalt Blue Pearl SG for a new 2014 if they offer the right colors this year, I love my ride but with all the upgrades since 06 I feel like I am missing out on a much better bike than what I have. Some of your experienced opinions would be appreciated, are the new bikes worth starting all over again? Thanks!

and I went from '95 to 2009...

but skipped all the years inbetween as I didn;t consider the "advancements" enough to justify the cost.

you should sit down with pen and paper and see if the numbers make sense for you to buy a new bike and set it up the way you like.
and if you can get value out of your bike if you sell it

( oh wait, I'm a shareholder...go out a spend!!!)

bikes that are paid for seem to ride better...LOL

Seriously I couldn't imagine having to dump all that money into getting a stock SG to how I would want it again! But I also understand the new bike itch too...Good luck and search for a deal. You might be surprised what a dealer will give you on your 06.

I went from an 07 street glide with the 96 to a 12 street glide with a 103. The difference between mine were night and day! With yours having the 88, you'll notice even more. It's most definately worth starting over for!!!

I would rather have the 06. You ain't missing out on anything,
unless you happen to prefer limp mode, cats in the exhaust, O2 sensors, etc. etc etc.

And by the way, the color was Deep Cobalt for 2006.

Exactly. For every benefit the new bikes offer, there is a drawback.

I never owned or rode a pre 2009 tourer so I can't compare but I can tell you that 09 and newer tourer rode flawlessly and they felt really planted in the corners. Even with the bike fully loaded with a passenger (11 ultra limited) it was balanced and stable even at highway speed. I think you will welcome the improved changes made to the touring line. Take a test ride and see for yourself

Dont know if I can answer properly but I have a 2012 SG. All I can say is wow. Coming from a Yamaha Roadstar, the difference is night and day.

The Cam 103 is amazing. I can't imagine anything else. If you're willing to make the financial investment, go for it.
