I have an 09 ultra that I bought new & the original rear tire started to cup after 5,000 miles. Didn't seem to affect handling but the noise started to get really loud on turns by 10,000. Back in 2010 Dunlop paid half toward a replacement tire. That tire now has 10,000 miles with the same cupping as the original. I keep the pressure at 40 psi. It seems to be inherent in these tires. They look like they'll last at least 15,000 but not without scalloping. I have stock pipes so the noise on turns is easy to hear. Are there better tires for these bikes available?
