Main thing is to run the update client from the Power Vision Program under programs with the PV plugged into the usb on the computer. Bike doesn't need to be hooked up. If you got it from FM it will probably be upto date. All you need is the internet and follow the instructions. The video link is great to start with. there will be a piece of paper in the box from FM that has step by step on hooking it up. Aren't but about 4 moves. actually too simple. after you hook it to the bike turn on both switches and it will get started.

Just follow the instructions to install. C0onsider mounting the PV display unit to the handlebars, as you can monitor many useful parameters from the ECM and calculated values like MPG (average and instant), fuel used, etc. The PV does not need to be mounted while the bike is running except when autotuning and/or datalogging, but I think the display feature is one many owners overlook.
