In the middle of taking off the inner faring on a 07 FLHTCU. Did not think of the throttle and clutch cables. Duh. Also it looks like I need a special Torxs socket for the ignition switch. I'm halfway to HELL!!! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

suggest you invest in a $55 service manual and some basic tools...

Buy a service manual. I've done the inner fairing and it is so much easier with the manual.
Can't imagine trying it without one.

I have the set of Torx. But the ignition bolts have a pin in the center. Do you break the pin or is there a seperate Torx that fits it. I have all of the tools except that times 2. I will pick up the manual tomorrow.

I hope they have one in stock for you. I had to wait a week for mine.

STOP; don't break anything. Go have a beer and read the service manual. I have an '04 EG and have had the switch cap off a dozen times and the only Torx were one on each side of the cap just below the handlebars. The ignition itself, at least what is removed in order to remove the fairing cap, has no bolts on the '04.

What you need to do is get a service manual. I've had my igntion off several times , no pins to break, no torx, just a screwcriver to release the lockng pin.
GET THE MANUAL!

The ignition switch is held on by two Allen Head screws accessible from the front of the handlebars under the radio on the 06 Ultra.

I know this becauseI did remove my ignition switch when painting the inner fairing.
Once I removed the lock assembly from the Ignition switch, I couldn't get the upper cap off the ignition switch without damaging the insert under the lack assembly with the words on it (locked, off, ignition, accessory), so I removed the ignition swicth intact in the upper cap.

I just used a long "T" handle allen wrench. (and it was a real PIA)
