Default Motor oil coming from breather

Recently had my bike in shop for service. While it was there the shop took it upon themselves to do an oil change. Went for a ride and noticed oil leaking from the breather. It was overfilled by mistake. Oil was drained and reset at proper level. I now have the pleasure of oil seeping out of the breather and dripping onto the pipes and everything else in the vicinity. This is definetly motor oil. The level is at midway on the grid. I did a search and didn't really find anything exactly like this problem. It didn't blowby before it was overfilled and it isn't acceptable that it does now. Has anybody else ran into this problem and recalled what the correct fix is for this? Could the breather tubes somehow now be siphoning oil from the crankcase? I have cleaned the K&N and reoiled it properly.

I keep my oil level halfway on the grid hot .

I also snag one of my GFs stick on panty liners and stick it to the inside of the bottom of the football cover .

That catches the occasional drip ..

I hope you don't have an on going issue .

good luck Austin

Default Oil from Breather

My 2011 started doing that and I took it into the dealer. They changed some rubber valves or something in the rocker boxes and it took care of the problem.

I may be wrong, but I doubt overfilling it caused the problem.

My 13 is doing it now too. I'm going to bring it in and let them fix it too

You mean the certified HD mechanic made a mistake and over filled your oil. Hmmm Those are the reasons I have lost confidence in them (HD service facility) for simple things like that. I mean they work on bikes ALL day every day. It should be second nature for them by now. That would fall back on the service manager not having his mechanics do a post service walk through of services completed. Just to make sure the customer is happy and satisfied.
oh wait that that's how customer service used to be. Sorry I forget times have changed a-lot.

Can't say I've found any dripping on my 2012 with FuelMoto Pro-billet A/C. I have noticed some sort of very light misting or oily looking residue on the rear of the tank around the saddle horn after long rides. No oil inside the football or seeping around the jugs or anywhere else I can find. It seems to crop up on the right side first, which makes me suspect the A/C, but it could simply be oil from the filter being atomized and expelled out through the airstream. If I ever pin it down I'll post my findings.

"I did a search and didn't really find anything exactly like this problem."

You must have been searching on the Food Channel Network Forum....

I've been through 3 different air filter set-ups and they all leaked. Some worse then others. Either modify yours so the blow by is sucked directly into the TB or vent the blow by to the ground which I finally ended up doing.

Vent it to the ground. Problem solved, and you can fill your crankcase to the proper level without it puking everywhere.
