I don't think you'll find better shocks than Ohlins. You will find them on most every performance bike that has upgraded suspension.

I too went with the 940's.

Night and day different then the stock HD 12" air shocks.

However, I have upgraded again to the Ohlins 2-2's, and

they are NIGHT and DAY different and BETTER then the Progressive 940's!!!

Ohlin 2-3s. Love em. Awesome when riding alone. Easy preload adjustment when adding wife and extra gear. Am so finished with fiddling around with air pressure. IMO, you cant speak to weather or not it is good value unless you've actually tried them. I will never go back.

I started with Ricor intiminators in the front and then wondered what happened to the back. I then went with Ricor shocks in the back and went what happened to the front. The rear shocks are good. the front jumps up on a bump and the rear just taps you to let you know they are there.

Now if I could actually get the front and back to ride the same...

I found, on an FLHTK, that the Intiminators worked the best with 10oz of Amsoil 5wt. That got rid of all the harshness, and had the bike handling great.

I cant believe more guys are not jumping on this post. WI Bob you went from JRI-B to HD stock 13" air shocks and got a smoother ride by just changing the shock oil? I have seen Threads on changing the shock oil for a smoother ride but I never dreamed it would be close to the JRI. Are you sure you had the JRI adjusted right.
Could you give more details on this, how much do you weigh? 2 up or solo only? If I can get a real improvement on my Kings 13" shocks just from the oil I'm all over it. Thanks.

What's to jump on? Give the HD's with the new oil a try. Your butt may be perfectly happy and why spend more in that case? I would pose the same questions you are contemplating but most of us went from the HD air bags TO jri's or ohlins. We know it just ain't so.
