Default ATT: CFR Owners - Let's talk tuning/maps

I've had my CFR exhaust on my Street Glide for a couple of months now. I'm using a Power Vision that I purchased from Fuel Moto with the map that they included. I've got the V&H Dresser Duals and a Roland Sands air cleaner.

When I first installed everything the tune seemed decent with just the occasional pop here and there. I ran the Autotune feature a couple of times but it almost seemed to make the popping worse.

Now after about 4K miles on the system the popping is fairly frequent. It pops on decel and it even pops sometimes during an upshift.

I'm looking for some feedback from other CFR owners and what you're experiencing as far as tuning goes.

2013 streetglide with V&H dresser duals,CFR slipons, zippers maxflo intake and a powervision tuner..I downloaded the fuel moto loaded map..My bike acts the same as yours.Popping on decel and sometimes when upshifting..I also get a loud poping noise sometimes on the first startup of the day..I have 1200 miles on the stage 1..
I spoke with Jaime and he sent another download to try.I haven't had a chance yet to download it..I hope it gets rid of the popping and the heat!!

My 12 FLHX has jack pot 2-1-2 , CFR'S , SE A/C with a SE race tuner pro. Just running a canned map, no dyno, and have not done any recordings with it. Bike has run perfect right from the start, no popping what's so ever for the past couple months since I installed it. Almost went with the PV now I'm kind of glad I went with the SE tuner.

09 SG with CFR's, V&H dresser duals, SE AC and PCV. Used the map provided by FuelMoto which had very minor decel pop. Had it dyno tuned and noticed more of decel and shift popping. A tad bit irritating but I can live with it until I get cams and PowerVision and see if a new FuelMoto map will fix. If not, then a guess another $250 dyno is going to happen and see if the popping will disappear.

Blazink5,

You had your bike dyno tuned and it's still popping if not worse? That doesn't sound too good. I was considering getting it dynoed as well but I'll save myself $250 if it's not gonna cure it.

2010 RKC with stock engine, V&H Dresser Duals, SE intake, CFRs, Powervision. Got a map from FM, downloaded. Minor/occasional popping on decel, but have not run Autotune yet. Overall, the bike runs strong. I am quite impressed with the increase in torque.

I've had my CFR's mated to V&H PD's..with the PCV..had a canned map from Eastern Performance for over 5k miles now..had some decel pop initially..a member on here gave me some adjustments to make in some values and that cured all the decel poping!!! Bikes runs strong...i will look at the tune and attempt to post it on here!!!

After doing a lil research on the forum..i found this from French biker!!! Check this out and if this doesn't get you where u want to be..maybe PM Frenchbiker and get him to get u a copy of his map..but this is what i did and it cured the decel poppin..holla

I have had CFR slipons on my 09 Ultra for 3 years and over 12K miles. I have no discoloration whatsoever and my bike has never been tuned.

I run a stage 1 AC and a Power Commander V with a map that Jamie from Fuel Moto sent me for my CFRs and V&H Dresser Duals. It's in fact a map for true duals and 4" exhaust, not specific to CFR, and it works very well. I just experienced a wee bit of popping at decel and I added 10 in the fuel cells at 0% throttle between 1,000 and 2,750rpm. This cured the popping completely.

I am extremely satisfied with my CFRs and Cary Faas Racing are great people with superior customer service. One of my end tips started to pit after 3 years and they offered to replace it for free. Do you know many vendors who stand behind their product 3 years after purchase? I don't.
I didn't take them up on their offer because I want my muffler tips powdercoated glossy black so getting a brand new chrome end would have been a waste.
Just wanted to post my very positive opinion on the CFRs as a product and CFR as a company.
I must add that everyone who listens to my pipes loves them and I have 3 riding buddies who bought a set right after listening to them. They're all as pleased as I am.[/quote]

Awesome Bosshog919. Thanks for taking the time to post that up. I'm going to attach my PV to my laptop and give this a try this weekend.

Love the exhaust and will love it even more once the popping is gone.

Unfortunately yes. Save your dyno $ and try bigboss919's fix.
