RE: 2500 mile oil changes
I'd have to agree... changing every 2500 would mean for me to change the oil about every three weeks (I drive well over an hour each way to and from work.) I'm thinking of either going with the amsoil filters or swapping them out every month. But I can't see if you ride regularly needing the good synthetic swapped out that often, especially in the face of all the documentation in regarding how long modern engineered oil is good for. I think even BMW's are recommending 15,000 miles between oil changes. If this was the 60's or 70's... I'd be not sayin a word, but I think the technology in oil as come a bit since then. You guys that do swap your oil out that often... lemme know what you use so I can get some stock in it. The only way I'd be swapping my oil out that frequently is if I used the Harley labeled oil.

RE: 2500 mile oil changes
After reading all the posts, Did anyone say time limit? I was at a dealer some time back, and they were doing a 2500 mile oil change on a bike that was 3 YEARS old!! Of all the training I,ve been to, After Leaving one set a while, the oil needs changed , no matter what the mileage. And as far as myself, I look at it like taking a bath, Is it dirty, smell bad, been to long, been hot,or going on a trip. That weighs into the equation.
