HD paint price is ridiculous

Harley doesn't make the paint, they just buy it from PPG then mark the price up.. go to a paint supply store and get it. even if they cant cross the numbers(some can) they can match it up perfectly.
when a car/bike gets crash repair, they don't buy factory colors, they get a new color made to match the faded paint. they can match up any color, so matching your color is no big deal.

Car manufactures release paint codes to big name companies.
HD does not release codes period!!! even if you go to a PPG store or direct they will not sell you HD paint. A store may try to match it but it still, wont match 100%. I have a silver inner fairing in my garage that was "paint matched" with PPG paint, its getting an OEM painted inner fairing now...

I got mine painted also from Paul, he did a great job, for 375. I am real happy with the job and quality of his work.

$549 isn't bad compared to $1040 for a Road Glide inner fairing.
The Candy Orange uses Ember Red Sunglow as a base and can only be purchased through Harley or certain PPG paint suppliers. Cost for paint is close to $500 then labor, I bit it and ordered inner from HD.
It took 7 weeks to get it but what a difference a painted inner fairing makes on a Road Glide

Just so you will know, I sold my stock inner fairing and cap off my 2009 when I put an HD painted inner fairing on and recouped $100 (sold for $100 plus shipping).
I used the box the painted one came in to ship the stock one.
I sold it here one the HD Touring Classifieds: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touring-parts-121/
I also bought my inner fairing from these guys: http://shop.newcastlehd.com/
It would be $465.85 plus shipping
So that would have you paying $365 for a factory painted inner fairing, plus a shipping charge.

You just never know about painted parts. I bought a Chopped Tour Pak from New Castle and it was sitting on my door step in 21 days.
