I purchased the seat, hardware and police frame pan off of E-Bay. The Hardware had to refab with a welder to fit. I am going to use leather in front of seat to hide harness wiring. I like the ride and the look.

besides already being olive/black, I added the solo seat and chrome rack and howards horns for an old-timey feel. Also removed the rear foot rests. And tassels... Gotta have tassels...

Rocketman, I used the progressive lowering springs for the front to get 1", also the lowering brackets for the rear, also 1". Lowered the front fender with a pair of Fatboy fender brackets. So far no problems. I want to try a pair of RK Custom rear shock that are 12" for another inch in the rear. Love the look and after changing the front fork oil the bike really feels right to me.

thanks for the reply! do you remember the brand of rear lowering blocks you used....I was under the impression we couldn't use lowering blocks because of the way the inside of the leather bags are made....the shocks would hit the bags????

I'm really don't remember the brand. I'm thinking White Bros. I know they are specific to the 2000-2001 models, and they do work with the leather bags. I got them on E-bay. Someone asked me this before and said they were not available. I guess they are because I have a set. You might try a search on Flea-bay. Good luck. It might be easier to go to a 12'' set of shocks.

something i`ve wanted to do is re-cover the seat and saddlebags in tan suede. re-paint the tins in a color that might have been used 100 yrs. ago. Soon i`ll talk to someone that works at chrome plating place and investigate the idea of copper plating some small things on the bike. The guy that combines these things will have a good looking bike!!!
