Strat is right about the spoked wheels. I've seen a couple other Ultra's here on the forum that their owners were trying to do right to them, but hadn't changed out the wheels. IMO, they just didn't look right. The owner of the bike in the pictures he posted got the 'look' right.

I've just been through 28 pages of this thread... and now my wife's mad at me because I couldn't leave the computer until I was done.

I want to thank all that has posted, what a bunch of terrific ideas. I can't wait to order a new horn, some fender trim, maybe even a light for the front fender... not to mention carry the two tone paint over to the fenders. Now to just go crazy once the $$ allows.

I think that one of the common themes that us RKC owners agree on is that we love the retro/classic look. That of course is why we chose the RKC. I know at least that's why I chose it.

My bike is a 2001 RKC. It's a work in progress, but of course, you never finish with a bike. Thanks again for some great ideas.

Stratplexi, thanks for the pics. That bike is really cool. I have already done the visors, I kept them from when I had my Deluxe, and will continue to go that route. Jason

This is off topic but have following along on here turning my classic into classic . But....... I think I want to go the other way w/ hardbags and chopped tourpak and non wire wheels. So if any of you road king standard guys want to trade I'm up for it. Rick

For the sake of some "new" ideas to make your ride look like a classic, here are a couple of classics in the HD Shop right outside Joshua Tree NP. I think the owner was a Cav Scout back in the day...

I wouldn't have any other. But I am thinking maybe changing to some Vance & Hines Big Radius instead of the true duals. Anybody else tried them?

Got rid of the leather bags and put hard bags on. Perhaps not as nostalgic but I like the look. Not a good pic but what do ya think?
