Turn a Classic into a classic

I can't recall a thread where anyone has re-wrapped their bags. I think it would be expensive to do and I think that I would just buy another set of bags from some of the custom leather makers around the country. Fringe, lots of fringe though!
Google 'Custom Leather Saddlebags'...then look at 'Images' .... you'll find a lot of ideas. Also, give Chilhowee a call. I believe it was Rebecca that helped me (been a couple years)... they can do some things with your OEM bags. I spoke with her about building strips of fringe that I could mount to the existing bags and I got the impression that it wouldn't be much of a challenge for them to do something like that.

They are made by Ameritex USA (hard to find a website for the company)... J&P Cycles carries them. You can buy them with/without studs, with/without fringe...and in three or so widths.

Nicely done! I like the way you've cleaned up the tail end. Is that a factory brake light/turn signal/plate hanger assembly? Never liked my plate above the brake light. IMO fishtails just make it busy.
Thanks for your help!

Or you can use the 2009 and up Road King set up to place the plate below the light. It is plug and play. There is one for sale on ebay right now:
