The nostalgic saddlebag rails do cross the bags in front of the lid closures but it's not so tight that it causes a problem. You may have to use two hands to compress the tabs on the buckle, depending on how they fit on your bike, but it's a very minor inconvenience for the bump in looks, IMO.....The rails are a great addition

Awesome thread! I will using this for reference in the future. I am going to be buying an Evo Road King in the near future to go along side my Heritage Springer, and I want the old Duo Glide look. The bike below is not mine, but it one I found when looking for Evo Road Kings.
I'm with ya on the Duo look. Here's a little inspiration.
I have a set of unpainted reproduction Duo style tank badges if/when you decide you need some. There's some pics how I mounted up my cheap seat rail back in this thread, around post # 1365 or so.
Prophet, the fender light is a piece of cake. The hardest part is bringing yourself to drill a hole in that shiny painted fender.
