RE: CB Mike
I've had several different mic's. BTW Radio Shack does not work on the later models 99 and up. The Harley mic is by far the best, it isnoise canceling , crystal clear, easy to hold and priced about the same.
I'm not a pro MOCO person and shop elsewhere anytime I can, but sometimes it just makes sense to use HD specific products.
I also like to wear a half helmet pretty much year round and like this product from Sierra: http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail....IMC%2DHS%2DH40the microphone quality seems to be very good according to my friends, but I dont like the sound quality of the headset as well as the Harley brand, so I listen to the cb and stereo through the dash.
Someone on here had modified thier half helmet by sewing leather pouches or pocket covers over the v in the chin straps to insert the HD speakers. You could do that with the brand of your choice of course as I'm going to, once you get used toa helment mount it's hard to use the handheld, for me anyway.

Much easier to simply modify the helmet for use with the headset.
Simply sew a strip of Velcro across the "V" of the strap on it, and then put a small piece of stick-on velcro to the back of the speaker. I have used mine this way for the past couple years, and really like it.
Just make sure that the half of velcro on the helmet is the softer portion, so it doesn't rub against your ear...
This even works when I want the optional ear and neck piece on my helmet. the speacker stays on the strap, outside of the neck piece, and the sound comes thru beautifully.
I found that the problem with a handheld, is that It IS a HANDHELD...you need to take your hand off the bars to use it, and that coulld cause a problem in a curvy road..
