Default SERT Kit Question

Can someone that recently bought a SERT, tell me if the SERT comes with the cables? Had a stage 1 done by the dealer and they gave me my SERT kit. When I opened it up, I found that there were no interface cables. When I installed the CD on my PC it says cables come with the kit. When I called the dealer, they told me they used to come with the kit, but now HD requires you to buy them separate. Doesn't sound right to me...[:@]

Thanks for your help!

the cable that goes from the interface box to the bike, you will have to buy from HD, at the HD price. the other cable, from the interface box to the laptop, is one of the common 9 pin serial computer cables (male on one end, female on the other) that you can buy at radio shack or another computer outlet. If you have USB, you will have to have a USB at one end, and a 9 pin serial connector at the interface box end. No big deal.

If you are on good terms with your HD service manager or the service advisors, ask them if they have some spare sets of cables, or the one with the Deutsh connector that plugs into the ECM data link on your bike. Customers often leave the cables that came with the '06 and earlier SERT's because the customers are not going to do any tuning on their own. My buddy bought the -01F kit (no cables) and got a set this way.

If you are moderately handy, you can go to the parts counter and buy a four-place Deutsh connector and the pins and fab your own cable for the data link to the SERT "key" and purchase a serial cable at a computer store for the "key" to computer piece.

My laptop didn't have a serial port, so I bought the adapter for serial to USB. My SERT was an older version that came with the cable.s
