Hey guys! New member here, so I appologize if Im missing the answer to this.

Here's the deal. I bought my 04 Electraglide in March. From day one, I do not like the front wheel. I found a new take off from an 09 Streetglide on Craigslist for $100. Zero miles. So I want to put this front wheel on my ride.

I know you have to change bearing size. So I removed my front wheel and took it to my mechanic. We ordered a new set of bearings for my stock axle. When putting it together, the pipe (from my stock wheel) used to set end play is loose in the hub. Bearings are pressed in as far as they will go.

What am I missing? What's the secret to get this to work out properly? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys!

 

Get a new crush tube that is the proper length and 1" in diameter. You don't want that in there loose. Many places have bar stock they can make them out of.

 

Im thinking it has to be more than just a tube. The hubs for the wheels should be the same, right? If that's the case, the existing stock tube for my 04 should be a good fit. Otherwise, there's something else going on.
