i can not find that engine number either, so you are either reading it incorrectly or it a weird number. I just checked my 04 bike which i have owned for over 8 years, that i purchased from a harley dealer and that has been titled in 3 separate states. I only have 3 letters before the numbers so having 4 letters is not necessarily true.

I can say from looking at the 2nd picture that the engine appears to be an 05 or 06 down motor as the two oil lines behind the cam cover did not exist after 05 or 06, i can't remember which because of what they did with the dyna that year and testing the 6 speed that came out on the 07's. So that should make it a stock 88 unless it has been apart.

my thougths

Default Thanks

It's always a possibility that the motor doesn't come with a clean history whether criminal or mechanical given the fact that where it was acquired from. Thanks for all the input, I'll start by working with the dealer and if its shady will deal with that in the proper way. As for his ole lady, I wouldn't bc I have a queen that does me right.
