Default RKC rear backrest relocator with rack

Does anyone make anything which works for the classic to give my wife a little more room and keep our rear rack?

Thanks all.

I have a RKC and had 2" of rod added (welded) to each side of my detachable sissy bar. Have plenty of room now for two up riding and still use a luggage rack with no problems. It was a great solution for me.

Here's a couple of pictures Southpaw. You can see I've gained quite a bit of room.

Default 2" added

You had a wonderful idea and alteration.

Is the material stainless steel or chromed steel? What did you use to weld the material? Mig, Tig? What size material was used? What wall tubing? Do you know the grade?

I'm sure my wife would appreciate 2" added to me as well as the seat...the seat has a better shot.

Funny Rich!
I took the stock sissy bar to a welder and asked him to modify it to my specs so I don't have any details on what he used other than adding 2" of rod to each side. The added section he used was not chrome so I did end up having the sissy bar re-chromed. The cutting and welding cost about a hundred which was money well spent. The re-chroming was pricey and it would have probably been cheaper just to have powder coated.
