05 Road King w/ Samson M-225 = Knocking
Howdy all, new here so I apologize if this is a duplicate. I searched the forum but couldn't find what I wanted.
I have an 05 Road King with about 2800 miles <--(sorry, various military deployments) and my wife got me some Samson M-225 slip-ons. Since I installed them the bike runs great and sounds mean. The problem is I get a knock when I'm slowing down. If I let off the throttle and "engine brake" until the bike almost dies and then pull in the clutch there is minimal knock or none at all. If I ride until it's time to stop, pull the clutch and brake, the engine will knock quite a bit. When throttle is applied the knock stops. I added a Cobra 1600AT fuel manager and it has helped some but the knock is still there. The rear cylinder is cooler and exhaust is quieter. The bike starts fine, idles fine, runs fine, and no problem if I hit the throttle in neutral and let the engine slow naturally. The problem only happens when coming to a stop. I have the stock air filter system, but I don't want to throw more money at this problem if it's not the intake. Any experience with this problem? Thanks for your help.

suggest you check the primary chain tension.
this is easy, check in a few different places as the chain stretches over time.
IF the plastic shoe is worn beyond use ( unlikely, mine have all gone well over 50,000 miles), the hayden m6 tensioner is a superior replacement
