Default Can bad gas cause pinging?

Over the weekend my bike pinged for the first time ever.I actually didn't know what it was at first. I did get really low on gas and started sputtering prior to getting gas at a station I never bought from before. I have a 5 gallon tank and it took 4.9 gallons. Its been pinging ever since that fill up but only when I am on the throttle, say 3500+ RPMs. Also, It has been really warm out, but I've ridden in hotter temps and not had this happen.

Can it be the Gas, or could something else be going on?

I have not done any mods recently.

Bad gas can make it knock and pink and rattle. I hate getting bad gas. First time I thought something was wrong with the bike. Fresh tank and all was good again.

Seemed to be the cause for me on my recent road trip out west low octane and high altitudes I was pinging al the time. Put these fitch catalysts pellets in and it all seemed to stop. So far I am a believer.

Yes bad gas can cause that. Also since you almost ran the tank almost empty, you could have some water or trash running through your fuel system.

bad gas is a pain, i lived out west for a number of years and sometimes would end up in places where only 85 octane was available, and it was late at night. I tried several solutions including octane booster but none seemed to be a cure all until i bought that next tank of premium. Then i tried the V-rod plug (10R12A) vs the standard 6r12 plug. Made a world of difference as this plug is a colder plug than the standard. I rarely have pinging anymore and have not had to put any additatives into my fuel except for winter storage when i add some fuel stabilizer.

These are whqt I got out west. I loved the way that they worked so far. Gas mileage has increased as well

Thanks for the replies, I am hoping that's all it is. I want to run this tank low and get rid of all of the "bad" gas. I will need to run 60-70 more miles to get down for my light to come on.

Yup... Both my BIL and I fueled up, pulled out of the station and within 100 yards I knew we just purchased bad gas. My TC 97 CI nor his TC106 never sparked knocked until then. I pulled off the road and my BIL pulled up and said is your bike spark knocking? We rode to the nearest Advance auto and purchased a bottle of octane booster...poured a little in and instant fix.
