I was just getting ready to say "Sounds like your fender is tweaked."

1 - The rear wheel axle bolt goes through the swingarm with cams at both sides to pull back evenly, usually not a problem
2 - Your swingarm pivots at the back of the frame and the pivot bolt goes through the frame mount the swing arm the rear tranny the swingarm and another frame mount with rubber isolators between the fame mount and swingarm. No adjustment an usually not a problem unless you have broken a bolt on the frame mount. Check each side, the football shaped plate with 2 grade 5 bolts and a chrome plug in the middle for the pivot shaft.
3 - The tire, swingarm tranny and engine are all bolted together with front and top motor mounts with adjustable heim joints. This is where you get your vehicle alignment and do not adjust unless you know what you are doing.
4 - If it tracks straight through the dirt don't mess with any of the vehicle alignment as misalignment creates vibrtation in our rubber mounted isolated touring bikes.
5 - Check your rear fender struts if the fender seems to be crooked and alignment seems good

i live on a pretty dusty road so i drove down to the end and checked it... tire looks to be tracking straight. Im gonna look at those mounts you mentioned anyways just out of good practice and ill make sure that they are in good working order. Im about to pull out the service manual and see if there is a writeup for vehicle alignment just in case. at this point im willing to bet its me rear end whether its the strusts or just the bottom of the fender where the rails attach.

Yeah, I would focus on the fender mount and bag rail supports, sounds like it is tracking good and you didn't mention vibration in your 1st post.

I have broken the head off these bolts in the past usually after a 1st gear hole shot followed by a 2nd gear wheel stand, with the wife and I onboard, may have had some alcohol involved. Anyway when the head breaks off you know it immediatly as the ear swingarm feels mushy because the drivetrain moves in the frame.
