Default Going to Sedona in Oct.

The spouse and I are flying out to Arizona this October and staying in Sedona for a week. Any suggestions on what to do other than the Grand Canyon? We've been there and done that. I've talked her into a day trip up to Flagstaff on a rented Ultra, but we will have a rental car for the week so I'm just trying to get some ideas for day trips. Any definite don't dos would be appreciated as well.

Go to the rest stop at the top of Oak Creek canyon. Nice view.

As mentioned, rest stop at the top of oak creek, Jerome is a place to walk around for a few hours. Ride down to wickenburg one morning. Ride to Grand Canyon Harley on I40 and make your own lunch. I you have a car drive to Williams and go through bearizona.

rt 66 from williams to kingman, stop at the caverns

monument valley, mexican hat, natural bridges national monument, 4 corners

prescott area; ride out to skull valley and mingus mountain

or fro Flag area, ride East on Lake mary road to 87, south to 260 West...thats a nice loop, or you could go north on 87 to Winslow.

Northern AZ is awesome and maybe the best riding in the US.

cyclerides.com is an AZ based site , click on dayrides.

Everything stated above is fantastic. Oak Creek Canyon is closest. Jerome is cool. Monument Vally is a bit farther but it's not to be missed if you have time.

Default October

The wife and I are hoping to be there in October too. We're flying to San Diego and renting a Limited. We're riding to Phoenix and up to Las Vegas. I'm really looking forward to it.

Maybe we'll see you there.

Living here in the desert one of my favorite stretches of highway is along Oak Creek Canyon heading up toward Flagstaff from Sedona. Trees and water! Ride/Drive up the mountain to Snowbowl in Flagstaff. That will be cool that time of year.

Watch for snow in flagstaff. Beautiful area to ride. Also watch for rocks on the roads. Not little rocks big pieces that fall off the road walls . They can catch you by surprise.
