Primary Chain Tensioner - Replace or Not
My 07 SG is at 35K miles
Its time for a service & Ive got a minor primary cover gasket leak & sometimes the clutch chatters a bit but doesnt slip. So I have to open it up to replace the gasket & pull the disk pack out & look at it.
Im still running the OEM auto chain tensioner, its whined some since it was new. We all know its sets the chain way tight. So Im thinking that since I will have it open anyways... is there any benefit to going to a different tensioner like a Hayden M6 or a different brand ? I used the Hayden in my older EVO and it worked but I did break several spring sets in the 10 yrs I owned it. I know that SOHotBikes has their HB hydraulic wedge for the new models, never used one before.
Are there better choices out there ?
