Your bike came with an mu85b16. A 150 will fit. It's only going to be a few mm wider. Most 150 tires don't have the correct load rating for our bikes which I believe is 77h. I looked at a 150
compared to the mu85 and I struggled to see a difference.

Others' opinions will be different, but here's mine:

I, too, have an '07 Road Glide. It's got the stock-size Dunlop "MU" series rear tire on it (2nd one I've had on).

For some reason, the mileage life of this rear tire has been 'way longer than any other rears I've gone through (and I've gone through quite a few).

Generally, I would get 11,500-12,000 miles out of a rear tire (going back to my earlier 2000 FLTR).

With this one, it's up over 16,750, and there's still tread left. Not sure what they've done to improve tread life, but this is more than noticeable. Could be a fluke -- just don't know.

I'll stick with the Dunlop MU when it's time for a new one. They do ok by me.

I used to run a 160 Dunlop E3 in my 07 Road King. Stock fender and wheel. Just about the widest tire that will fit underneath the stock fender.

This year, I installed a wider rear fender and wheel, and now I'm running a 180.

the e3 mu90 is slightly bigger than the mu85.yes the 160 e3 should fit(a few threads said they had to trim a small amount of the plastic belt guard, but the 160 is made for a 3.5 inch wheel stock is 3 inch.

The widest tyre recommended for a 3" stock rim is 150/80 and they are available with a load rating of around 77. I have used Avon in that size, which is pretty well the same rolling diameter as an MU (or MT). Check carefully if you buy one, as they are also available in lower load ratings, for lighter bikes. Avon make a V rated version that is suitable, which is a little wider, but also softer - grips fast, but also wears fast!

I don't know how you're getting that kind of mileage I've never had a bike get more than 8000 on a rear tire and I've been riding since I was 6 how does that happen? Front tire different story.
