So I'm in the process of buying a used 2004 Road King. It's not the Custom so the front fender has the chrome trim pieces on it. The one on the bottom and the front/top of the fender. I really like the clean look of the custom which has nothing and is just the solid paint color. In my case black.

I'm guessing if I tried to remove these trim pieces, I'd end up with a fender that had holes in it. Can I just look for a takeoff front fender from a vivid black Custom and simply swap it out?

Just curious as I'm already lining up things to do between now and taking possession of it.

 

No, because I'm looking for a clean black front fender, so ya can't have it. But yes touring front fenders all bolt on back in to the early 90's I think. Black on '09 up is different than earlier ones?

 

You are correct, you will end up with a bunch of holes all over the fender. As said above, all the earlier front fenders are interchangeable. Good luck!!

 

You might have better luck finding a Street Glide fender.

 

hey.just check for a.i.chopper..they make a sweet f.fender just like street glide.be sure you choose the right one.2 models..1 with tab.1 with chrome sleeves.mrfuji
