Default Street Glide rear pegs to floorboards

Wife is complaining on long all day rides that the arches of her feet get to hurting. I was thinking I might go ahead and switch out the stock streamliner pegs for streamliner footboards. The only concern is that I have noticed that when she rides with me and the pegs are down I constantly hit the backs of my legs on the pegs at stop lights. Just curious if the boards are more or less intrusive on the driver, or if they pretty much are about the same as the pegs.

I find them to be a little more intrusive, but tagging the back of your legs is a good sign you're getting close to wedging a foot under a bag. You really want to avoid walking a bagger if you don't have to for that reason.
Then again, I have a 36" inseam and size 12.5 boots... these things get in the way just sitting down at a restaurant.

Boards keep mama happy. You'll learn to stop duck walking and start using your friction zone and pick up your feet. Once that bike starts to roll, your feet should be on the boards

Yeah, expect the boards to hit the back of your legs. I didn't have that problem with the pegs. My OL points her toes outwards when I'm about to come to a stop which helps out a bit.

I added the adjustable footboards to my FLHX. Have them adjusted pretty low to make the wife comfortable.

You will get used to them. Ride solo with them down. You'll feel them for awhile - then you won't even notice they're on.

Not so much a problem starting off from a stop as it is coming to a stop. I like to get my feet on the ground before i come to a complete stop just in case the wife moves around a little.

i think i just need to get them ordered and see how it feels...........

" I like to get my feet on the ground before i come to a complete stop just in case the wife moves around a little " ... Someone has got to say it so I will ... Bad habit, putting the feet down early and the Ol' Gal squirming around in the saddle ... It's hard to break her of that without causing a lot lot of anguish too ... A bit of time in the saddle and you'll learn ( hopefully ) to give up the Duck Walk ... And a long calm conversation with her highness ( no disrespect intended ) explaining the problems that you both could/would encounter attributable to being squirrelly on the rear should help immensely ... Good Luck Brother!

I added the Streamliner footboards to my Street Glide, and wife is much happier with them.
I didn't notice any difference in the interference between pegs and boards.

The only time this is going to be an issue, is if you plant your foot on the ground and hold it in one place while starting to move forward.
Pick your feet up the minute the bike starts moving, and this won't be an issue.

Probably so.
But if your riding habits have you constantly hitting the back of your leg against the rear pegs, your still going to hit them against even the smallest boards.

I bump them from time to time. Not a big deal. Wife doesn't ride very often so I like her to be as comfy and relaxed as possible.
