A standard bicycle pump doesn't work very well, they do not have a "Non-leak connection".
Even if you didn't loose any oil you still loose air every time you unhook it,
so you will never really know how much air pressure is in the shock.

They do make a non leak bicycle pump but they are about the same price as the Harley one.
