I have never had much problem when flying my planes, I guess there are not as many 18 wheelers to worry about. I think I need a shorter windsheild or just put my original SG windshild back on. I thought the 10" would be good, but maybe a 6" so short folks can see over.

I think I will try Pledge, that is what I use on my Mooney M20J leading edges and windshield

 

I usually give both my windshield and riding glasses a good coat of turtle wax a few times a season. Water beads right up and wind blows them clean. I just need to find a way to stop the inside of my glasses from fogging.

 

I wouldn't tell anyone else to use it, but I use the same ProtectAll on the windshield as I do on the rest of the bike. Use it on all my windows as well, house and car. Water runs right off and it seems to not get as dirty.

 

When I wash my ride, I soak the shield with a wet towel for several minutes, thus softening the guts and grime, then I wipe with a micro fiber cloth. After getting the unwanted companions off, I coat the shield with a Lucas Oil product called "Slick Mist". This aids in removing any future debris and also aids in rain runoff. I also coat the fairing with the product and the rain and bugs seem to wipe right off. Oh yea, I carry a micro fiber cloth soaked with the product in the lower pocket for use while on the road.

 

As stated earlier, you should try and look over it. I also wax my windscreen when I wash/wax the bike. That really helps with the rain.

 

Won't make any difference what you do. The windshield gets wet on both sides making good vision impossible without being able to look over the top.
