See what I just got

Wow I did not expect this many responses. Where do I start?
The cup holder is a $20 black plastic holder that my good friend gave me when I bought the GL in 2008. I like it because it holds anything I can put in it.:
The pipes are true dual Pythons and they are loud! Not so bad until you let it eat. Then the bark will cause your ears to bleed 20 feet behind it. At 80 just a nice rumble or baby shifting it around town no complaints. But hit the throttle like you mean it and it's LOUD!
I've put over 300 miles on it since I bought it and tried to do mostly highway miles. I own baggers to tour and spend a lot of time in the seat. The seat is miles ahead of the GL as for comfort. Everyone thinks the GL seat is like a sofa. It's not! It's too wide and it's hard as a rock. After an hour and a half or two hours you have to stop and walk around to get your legs to stop hurting. It cut the circulation to your legs and they hurt. I tried pads and everything short of a new $800 seat.
I've never owned a bike with floor boards and heel/toe shifter but I like it! I do need some highway pegs. Had them on the GL and like the variation during those hours on the Interstate.
As I said before the throttle response and acelleration on the GL is breath taking. For example you're running down the highway at 70 and want to pass a semi quick. I could twist the throttle, not even all the way on the GL, and be doing 85 or 90 before I got to the front bumper of the semi. Now don't get me wrong this 103 HD is pretty good too. But to even come close I'd have to drop a gear and twist it hard. But the reality is this new bike is fast enough to get me out of trouble, or into trouble real quick.
Speaking of passing semi's. The new HD has a lot less buffeting when you get into the dirty air just behind a semi. With the GL you'd think your head was in a paint shaker.
I live in Southern Illinois and bought it in Alton at Ted's Motorcycle World. Great place by the way. This is the 3rd bike I've bought from them. Bought the GL from them in 08. Twisty roads are scarce so I haven't had a chance to see how it does in the twisties. The GL was absolutely effortless in the turns. You just thought about turning and it would turn to the foot pegs with no effort at all. Rock solid and more sport bike feeling than touring class bike. At the end of the turn just twist the throttle and it straightens up and flys out of turns. As I've said the torque and throttle response is unbelievable. I'm too old to be doing much of that so I doubt I'll miss it.
My wife doesn't ride so I don't need anything for the back seat. My touring luggage never complains riding behind me.
All in all first impressions? I don't think I'm giving up a thing with the HD. The HD has a more comfortable seat and seating position. I'd like the bars back about an inch but I can do that later and it's pretty minor stuff. I am surprised by the power and torque of the HD. It's better than I thought it would be. I'm also surprised by how smooth it is as any speed above idle. The stereo is much better than the GL. Now if I could just stop turning on my left turn signal when I want to honk the horn I'd be ok.
I think I covered everything. If not remind me

Sa-Weet! Very nice...
I wouldn't add to much right away, visit some bike nights and some HD dealers to see other bikes, get some ideas what looks good to your eye...
Highway pegs, yeah those are nice...maybe a drivers backrest ( I did notice that you didn't have one on the wing, so you may not need or want a backrest....
Enjoy the new ride
