Some things in life are meant to be a certain color, tail lights - red, turn signals - amber, frames - black. If you think about how much of it would actually be visible (which isn't much) on a touring bike, seems a waste of hundreds of extra dollars when I coat of black powder coat would do just fine. Plus if you change your mind about paint color then black will always fit not matter what you choose.

such custom touches can soon look very dated.

go look at a ten year old custom bike mag- some of the stuff is horrifying

Cost is not an issue...painting it myself...paint is already purchased...just a matter of which I pour in the gun...and within 5 years I will get bored and tear it down to the frame again...lol

I voted blue. Since stock frames are black, any other color sets your bike apart. Since you've got it torn down and you're doing the work yourself, it would be a shame not to give it that extra touch.

The frame is the gallery for your custom work. Unless you want to highlight the gallery, best you stick with the art.

The only painted frames I've ever seen that looked ok were those that had been highly customized. You really don't want to highlight all of those brackets etc.

I say go with the blue. It will stand out & draw people's attention IMO. Good luck & I look forward to seeing the finished product.
