new toy...Cruise-Mate
Stopped by my local indy HD guru/mechanics/friends shop today and he had a new product to show me. (plug plug www.stewyscustoms.com )
It is called a Cruise Mate and it replaces that star wheel thumb screw gizmo that acts as a throttle lock. It's not too hard to install, and the price is reasonable IMHO... it looks like a quality product and a well thought out design. just a 1/4 turn push with your thumb will lock the throttle. the amount of pressure us set by how far you push the lever so if you have a wide range of how locked you want it to be. The kit is 40 bucks off the manufacturers wesite, my guy was a little more expensive, but he also installed it. It gets thumbs up in my book!

Sturgis Throttle-mate
I rode to Cave Creek, Arizona last weekend to check out the AZ bike builders showcase at the Hidaway Grill. I got something similar to the cruise-mate, called the "Sturgis Throttle Mate". The lady that was selling them is named Cheryl Cole. She sells them for $14.95 and they are very easy to install yourself. It attaches tothe "star" bolt on the underside of the throtlle. You can reach her at sturgisthrottlemate.com I like it so far, great for when you get on the open road.
