I agree with BH in that it seems like you would want to match up the engine guard with the saddlebag guards. But I haven't really seen the utility of the saddlebag guards and I think they clutter up the lines of the bike. I'm not sure that they provide any real protection in the event of a tipover - it looks like the back of the bags would sustain a lot of damage in any kind of fall.

trust me they work---ask me how I know --- --I dropped the bikebefore I put the guards on which resulted in scratched bag and various nicks (I wasn't paying attention), after I put the rear crash bars on I was riding to work thoughtI was going to get hit by a car---put brakes on quickly (too much front brake), had a little skid bike went down---rested perfectly on the front and rear crash bars; no damage not a nick.
I agree with everyone else the guards should match.
