Does anybody have a spare factory air cleaner backing plate 29630-08A available to take a look at for me?
What i am needing to know is if the three brass inserts in the backing plate are flush with the plastic of the backing plate or do they protrude up from the backing plate?

Today I was changing out the old dirty air filter on my bike and I noticed the three brass inserts are protruding out just a bit (not flush with the plastic of the backing plate) and I was concerned that because of this protrusion of the inserts the gasket and air filter wouldn't be able to seal properly when the three air filter screws are torqued down to torque specs.

So can anybody take a look if you have one laying around and let me know what you find I would appreciate it. Thanks

 

since mine is right in the garage i looked and they are all flush

Are you looking at the three brass inserts?
Are you sure they aren't protruding about 1/32" ?
This would be on the air filter side.
