Default 02 bungs

Been looking at new exhaust systems. They all say that they have multiple 02 bungs. I have no idea what these are. I've looked for them on my exhaust, and didn't see them. Even when I almost had it all the way off to change handlebars I didn't see any. Do they increase performance by sending information to the computer? I have an 06 SG, so perhaps I don't have any bungs, or anything to worry about?

And the bungs are just the place to screw in the O2 sensors IF you had them.

an 06 does not have O2 sensors. you can just put plugs in the bungs on new pipes. You have to change ECMs or put on a tuner with auto tune to add O2 sensors. I think a thundermax makes a world of difference, but it really depends on you build. A stock 88, I would not waste money on adding autotune.

you can't use just any plug to plug the bung holes, there is a special plug for it,where ever you buy the pipe ask for bung hole plugs for as many holes there are and size..........man this sounds like a X ratted answer

The new pipes will come with the plugs, most of the time. However, if you are going to walk into an auto parts store and ask for bung hole plugs, can I stand back and watch? I might ask for the plug that goes in the O2 sensor hole/bung.
