Default Who's done a Stage 1 and then......

Who's done a Stage 1 and then gone back to stock mufflers because they didn't like the slip ons they installed??

I did a Stage 1 with V&H Power Duals and brand X slip on mufflers. Recently did a 3,000 mile trip and the muffler sound drove me nuts (to much blat blat blat), so I put stock mufflers back on to keep my sanity. Anyone else do this? I'm not really pleased with the stock muffler sound either, so I guess I'll be on the search for new slip ons.

Anyone have Rush "Big Louie" slip ons hooked to a Power Dual headpipe?

Thanks

I've got the Power Duals with the 4" Rineharts and I love the sound, throaty but not too loud.

Maybe one of your buddies might have this combination you could listen to?

I have the V&H Big Shots with the H-D SE slip on's. They are perfect.
Barely hear them till you give it some gas then they are very noticable.

I have V&H headers with 4" Rinehart True Duals- love 'em. Loud but only when I really crack the throttle.

There was a thread started about stock mufflers a couple of days ago, many here on the forums have them and like them. I am runnin klockwerks 4in supersaver slip ons, low idle, mellow cruising and bark when you get into it, I like them. After I replace the header with the kittyless one I got from fleabay, I am thinking about putting the stock mufflers back on just to see how they sound.

I'm with you- I wear a full face helmet and even though my exhaust does not seem that loud the droning is ruining the ride. Looking for something quieter myself but just don't like the looks of the stock mufflers.

I run the Rush "Big Louie" on a stock head pipe with stage 1on my '03 Ultra.
love the sound, deep, throaty, quite in town when putting around, and no drone at all.

I'm running a 96" stage 1 with stock mufflers from a 103" cop king. Sounds good, not too loud and runs great.

I have a stock kitty less header on my 13 SG, I'm still running the stock mufflers but I have punched through the back of the baffles. They are still not very loud but they do open up alittle when I get on it hard. I'm personally looking for more sound but if your wanting a Farley quite exhaust this might be your ticket. I've also heard a lot of people are liking the screaming eagle pipes becouse they are pretty mellow as well.
