The wife and I ran the Cardo Scala set for two years. They work pretty well, battery life can be an issue. With wind noise the mics stay active and use up battery. The phone (Bluetooth) system works well for incoming calls but was not taking voice commands well. We just got a 13 Ultra and the HD sets. The tethering to the bike is a bit of a pain, but the intercom is simpler to use and no battery to worry about. I don't miss the Bluetooth, leave me alone I am on my bike. Mike

my wife just plugs in before she gets on the bike and then steps on. she doesn't seem to have a problem doing it that way.....and most of the time, the wrap arounds don't bother much on me. only a couple of times did they pinch my ears, i readjusted and they were fine.

Not sure for wireless system but J&M elite head set works great.I tried Nolan Ncom but you have to carry one more wall charger and carry more batteries to me its easier to just plug the head set cable in to my bike.

J&M makes great headsets, two piece cords.
However, I was at the HD dealership Friday and the parts guy stated he was trying out a new Bluetooth headset..didn't say about name of headset...sounded interesting

We were at a Touring Clinic at our local HD and one of the riders made a simple suggestion to help with wind noise. Take a plastic spoon, paint it the same color as the boom mike, cut off a large portion of the handle and using electrical tape, tape it to the boom covering the mike. The spoon helps keep some but not all the wind noise down.

My HD set for 3/4 helmet clamps onto the lip of the helmet and it has the boom mike in it. My wife's set from IMC is held in place with Velcro. I removed the liner, put the mike and ear pieces in and reinstalled the liner. The cord comes out the left back side of the helmet with enough cord for her to plug in the pig tail. Due to her back, she cannot plug the helmet into the bike until after she is on. First we plug the lower pigtail into the bike, let it dangle, she then gets on, reaches down and plugs the two cords together. She is actually able to do this faster than some of our friends that plug in then get on. No cords get in her way. Hope that helps out some.

why don't you just swap headsets? then she will have the 2 piece like you are looking for..
Problem solved...

(yes..a 3/4 headset WILL work on a 1/2 helmet..)
