Default Goofy bike washing question

When I wash my '11 Ultra can't keep the water from continuing to run out of the left side of the tour pack and down on the saddle bag. I use a leaf blower to blow all the water out of/off of the bike that I can. I then completely dry it. I have to leave a rag on the left bag overnight to catch the dripping water. All this would not be so bad, but even after the dripping stops, the next time I ride the bike, water runs out again and stains up the left bag.

Does anyone know where this water collects and how to blow it out of there?

i never ran into that problem. maybe the seal is bad on the lid. i only wash a couple of times a year and use detail spray the rest. quick and easy. i like S-100 to wash, almost any detailer will work in between. i use windex for the chrome. works for me. I ride quite a bit, so i dont want to spend a lot of time washing and waxing so i go for the easy way.

I would think the water is collecting in the side light units. I've noticed some water blow out of them when I use the air machine to dry the bike. To solve the issue, never spray a heavy stream of water up under the tour pak.....

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind.

I think you answered your own question. Wasn't 2011 the first year for water cooled Ultra's? You'll be needing to track down that leak ASAP!!

Mine does the same thing. Fortunately, I don't take a hose to my bike very often, I'm more of a damp wipe after every ride kinda guy. Never really tried to figure out where the water hides but if it is the lower light on the Tour pack I'll have that problem solved pretty soon as I just ordered the chrome trim piece that comes on the Classic's in lieu of the lights. I'll be removing those lights soon and replacing them with the chrome trim.

I have issues with that, on a jack and level no problem, on the side stand drips.... I place a towel on left saddlebag to catch the drips...
