Question Essential tools for road trip

Gonna cruise with the cruiser. FL to Knoxville via 92/26 & 40. Not planning on hauling the tool cabinet. What's the most essential tool you would carry? I'm thinking AAA. If one had a flat tire on a UC, would one be able to plug it and somehow pump it up on side of the road?

Get a air gauge that makes it easy for you to check your tire pressure. A friend said his tires looked okay, I checked them, he was almost 10# low in ther rear. Other than that, the credit card, road insurance and towing. Unless you carry a full kit, you'll just end up with the wrong tool for the part that fell off. Besides, when that has happened to me in the past, I have always been able to borrow the right tool from someone nearby who came out to gawk and figure out why I was parked on their front lawn.

if that doesn't get me rolling then its the cell phone, credit card and road side assistance insurance.

This is what I carry all the time... Doesnt take up muchnspace and has pretty much everything you could need for routine maintenance or normal roadside repair. This plus a cell phone and AAA will get you out of pretty much any jam. The only other thing I've considered carrying on a long trip is a tire repair kit... The one that comes with the screw in plugs and a Co2 cannister.

Yep, that's it for me. No need for a lot of extras I'll never use.

Some zip-ties...They come in handy for a lot of things and the tool kit that comes with the HD touring bikes..Other then that, good luck, credit card and roadside assistance of some sort....

Funny you mention that, I am going to Knoxville in June. I carry pretty much what everyone has posted. Have a nice Craftsman tool kit the foldable tool thing they give you when you buy the bike and few extras just in case.
