You would think Harley would do a lot of things that they don't....
Like nicer grips, or how about something as simple as a valve stem you can actually reach?
More competition coming from Indian this year with lower prices....let hope MoCo notices and steps thing up a bit.

 

I don't like the rails either.

 

Cleaner is better.
Fender bumpers are just lame or stupid lookin' no matter how you look at it.

 

I got the limited for all the other options, Titanium gauges, heated grips, ABS brakes, Security, I too like the looks better without the rails but the protection out weighs that, accidental drop, someone turning front tire into bag taken off and tire burning paint while ride'n in groups etc. Yeah some people go as far as putn all the lights and chrome gap fillers, but just rails don't look that bad...

I wanted to buy an Ultra mostly because it was cheaper and didn't care one way or the other about the extra bumpers/guard rails etc but they only had one left in the state and it was white.So I just sucked it up and took the black "Limited" Those extra bag guard rails might keep your bags from getting busted up in a tip over but I'm not in a hurry to run out and buy them.I gotta let my check book cool down for awhile.

 

Forgot to mention the chrome wheels on the limited, and for $1000 more you cannot even come close to gettn the classic up to a limited so I got the limited and will only have to pay $300 for the rails. As far as the front bumper and rail, the side reflectors would have to go for sure.... And really I thought they would look like **** too but seen them on one with custom paint and looked good, But like someone said earlier to each his own and that's why we buy our bikes and add the stuff we only like so it makes us different...

I like the Classic look and that means rails,its a personal choice and hopefully you have what you like and didn't settle.

 

That's one of the things I liked about the limited, the clean lines. I took all that off my 06.
