Default Quick detach backrest/rack for "07 Road King

In order for my wife or daughter to feel safe, I have to invest in a rear backrest, and might as well have luggage capability also . The best eBay deal I see is from "boscomarcus" in San Francisco for $195. He says I need a front docking kit and provides P/N 53803-06. This is apparently available for $41.99 through dealers, but is $85 on eBay.

Does anyone know if this rack is decent, and is this the kit to really attach the parts to an '07 Road King properly? I've had mostly good experiences with eBay vendors, but some have promised "factory fit" that wasn't close.

Thanks for your valued opinions.

You realize you didn't actually tell us anything at all about the rack you are asking about, yes?

Yes, that is a part number for one of the docking hardware kits which will fit an 07 RK.

Ever hear the ol' saying: Penny wise and dollar stupid? Your riding what many say is the world's most adaptable touring motorcycle. Why be so cheap that you screw up future modifications with after market crap? I have a HARLEY DAVIDSON 4 point docking system...and can switch between options with quick, slick and effortless ease. My tour pack, or sissy bar and luggage rack are Harley Davidson products. You want to save a few bucks...I get that...but then, factor in the future aggravation with ill fitting parts, busted knuckles and heartburn.....I don't know, it sure sounds dumb to me.

I'd recommend just to keep watching Ebay for a used deal. I just picked up a backrest on Ebay for $162.00 that looked as good as new and is made by Harley. The docking kit is currently on there for $30.00. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/300910669450...84.m1423.l2649 I understand trying to save some money so normally I shop on Ebay for used.
