I've seen that done before. Nothing wrong with it at all, and if there was you wouldn't catch me judging anyway.
I personally went with two extended levers and the back one is about flush with the floorboard. I only use the heel for neutral and having that position gives be positive neutral engagement every single time easily.

I may try the extended shifter at some point, but in the meantime, this didn't cost me nuthin'.

Really....you're really just messin' with us, right?

I mean, if you positioned your shifter totally vertical you could just use your leg to shift.

It doesnt look bad but how does it help? With the lever canted in the same direction as the standard front shifter wouldn't they both exert force the same way?

Whatever floats your boat...for me, I'd be scared of getting the toe stuck in like a vise and then can't get foot loose to plant before bike tips...JMO.
