You don't have any miles on that bike.

It's only last week at 128,000 miles ( not km) that I chose to replace the lifters and rocker arms and shafts just because I thought that it was a good idea to do so. ( Nothing was broken.)

I wouldn't own a new Harley. (They've ruined them IMO.)
Yep they are only new until you ride them off the lot.

I've got 110K Miles on my '94... still runs great..

Only you know your financial picture, so l have no comment on what you can or cant afford. There zre many improvements in the last 10 years, the engine isnt one of the most important imo. If you can afford to upgrade, do it though id buy a low mileage 1 yr old bike over spending the premium on a brand new one

Other than the frame I would say no...

I asked my indy the same thing. My 02 has 35K. He recommended keeping it (had a lot of positive comments about the engine, EFI etc). Suggested a 95 kit at some point which I am sure I will do. I got the stage 1, pipes, accessories, stereo and seat the way I want them. No use starting over.

I got a decent sized amount of $ from my Dad's estate, but instead of buying a new
bike, I picked up a used 05 RK Custom. I see the problems folks are having with
the new bikes, and thought why bother with a new one.
I've owned the bike for 5 years now, and got it just about the way I want it.
I'm for keeping the bike, and use your money elsewhere.
oh yea, and check change those tensioners NOW, or you are going to regret it.

Are you kidding me, get it paid off ASAP!!! If your worried about the engine, maybe going with a new HD engine program and get a new HD box/crate engine installed is the way to go, to put your mind at ease?! Not sure of the cost compared to trading in for new.

I believe in the end you will have a new bike. Enjoy it. I keep hearing some saying the new bike have issues, hell Harley's have always had issues.

Wow. Seems like it's pretty unanimous. I realize all Harleys have their problems, but I haven't had any. None at all.

I'm going to keep the bike, at least if not for another year. Once I crack it open and have a look inside to see what's been done (cams, tensioners etc.) I'll have an even better idea of whether I will keep it long term.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. They have really helped me get a good perspective of my situation.

I will still listen to more suggestions though.
