Question about removing cams from old support plate. I haven't got cams out of bike yet, but I keep noticing a tool over ends of cam shafts when they get pressed out.
Anybody have "trick" to get shafts out of old backing plate without having to invest in more tools.
Thanks.

Two little chunks of 2x6, or maybe it was 2x8.

Anyhow, set the support plate on them, with the camshafts hanging down. Push the rear camshaft out with your finger. The front camshaft, tap out with a tiny hammer and a little dowel. Go back and forth as the rear chain limits how far each camshaft can fall individually.

For installation, reverse the process. Seriously, it was that easy on all three sets I've done so far.

Thanks, man. So much for special tools and hydraulic presses.
Up with fingers and dowels!
Thanks.
