Monster Rounds too loud!

Monster Rounds too loud!
Guess I'm gettin' old, but dang my head's ringing after 300 miles today. Gonna have to sell these V&H Monster Rounds and get something quieter. Are the Monster Ovals better, or should I go with SE Street Cannons? I have V&H Dresser Duals and A/C and Power Vision to play with new slip-ons. Anybody have something to trade for the Rounds? Mine only have 800 miles on them, and the chrome is perfect.

I'd suggest you go where you can hear other pipes and decide what you like.
For me, ovals were louder than I'd like ( power dual headers), when riding the 2011 FLHTK my Pal stores with me in the winters.
when we ride together the MO's project a tinny sound out the rear. either I lead or I drop way back if following.
If you want control of dB's, tone and high flow all at the same time, look into supertrapp supermegs or the Screaming Eagle nightsticks/fatshots which are made by supertrapp.
of course long days subjected to wind and road noise can be tough on the ears- plugs may help.

You could check into changing the baffles, before sh*t-canning them. Might be a less expensive way to go. Sound is so subjective ...

I have to ask. Have you messed with the baffles? There is a baffle in each, and some fiberglass wrapping also. If you put the fiberglass wrapping back in (if it's missing), I think you'll like them better. Still a nice deep sound, just not obnoxiously loud.
One thing also, after 300 miles, I sometimes have issues also. But it's usually from the wind, not my pipes. Ear plugs are a must for me on any ride over 200 miles long.
