Default Customising the SE tail pipe?

Hello from Croatia, Europe!

I ride a 2012 FLHX. I have put on it SE 4inch tail pipes. (takeoff from a CVO, got it for a bargain)

Problem is that these pipes make my bike sound like a 250ccm scooter, BUT i love how they look.

Are there any products on the market that i could use to change the inside of the tail pipe to fix the sound?

(I have a big shipyard in my neighbourhood and acces to their machines, so the machining is not a problem.)

THANX!!

Or just take the baffles out altogether. That's what I did and man o man does it sound sweet. Rumble is so deep it makes your bones tingle. You dont need to break the welds either. Just go around the flat part with a hammer and a chisel and punch along the corner bend inside until it completely separates. What you will be left with is a ring that is held on by the welds. But by that time the welds will be broken anyways. That's what I did and I skipped the fullsac and left the mesh inside.

It may sound good, but how is the performance? For a SG I would do the Fullsac.

Peforms great. I haven't had any issues whatsoever. For me I just couldn't see spending $400+ on some vance and hines or Rinehart or any other muffler that wouldn't fare much better than a gutted set of stock cvo mufflers that I got for less than $100. So I took the rest of the money and used it towards cams and that probably was one of the smartest upgrades I couldve done. I will admit...its loud but its a deep throaty loud not the raspy kind.

+1.

"attempts" at modifying mufflers can sometimes reduce flow velocity and volume.

a few riders here have been happy with the results using stock mufflers after the catalytic converter is removed.

of course local regulation may make this a problem
