Default Exhaust question

Ok, I have a 2012 ultra and would like to put slip on mufflers on like Vance and Hines but after reading about cat converters I'm not sure i can do that. I am looking for a little louder sound than stock. Anyone with ideas let me know. I actually thought about getting a set of screaming eagle slip on's but not sure if they would work now.

Yeah they'll work with the stock header but it might not be as loud as you might want since the cat quiets the tone down noticably. Now without the cat it might be way too loud as I found out....I like sound but damn.

From what I have seen on website most slip ons will fit 95-13 bikes.

I have a 2013 CVO Ultra. I replaced the cat headpipe with a V&H Power Duals header and put the stock mufflers back on. The heat is gone from my right leg, the bike has a nice subtle tone at cruising speed and "barks" pretty nicely when I get on it. Fuel mileage went from 42 to 48+ PMG. I'm very happy with the results as I didn't want a lot of noise at curising speed.

The cat is in the head pipe, meaning that it is not in the straight muffler section. You can add slip on's without affecting the cat. My suggestion to you would be to replace the headers with aftermarket , non cat headers.

Check out the B&E Max Performance 2 slip-ons. $125+S&H for the straight-cut version. $155+S&H for slash cut. Fine to use with stock cat, no tuning/remapping required, louder than stock but not "too" loud.

The video on their main web page shows a good before/after comparison. There are also a few other videos on YouTube.

I got The B&E de-catted stock head pipe & running stock mufflers and love the sound! A little louder & deeper tone than stock. Had Rinehart TD's on my last couple bikes but they got a bit loud for my old, grumpy a$$ after 4-5 hour days! A cheap solution to an expensive exhaust system IMO!

I also have de catted the head pipe and run standard Mufflers sounds great, not too loud!
