Default Sundowner vs. Other Seats

Has anyone replaced a Sundowner with something else? What are your thoughts? I'm looking for something a little more comfy maybe better looking for my Eglide. I just don't want anything bulky. I already have a modded stocker for trips.

Thanks,
Rick

More comfy and better looking rarely go together.

Sundowner has lots of padding, and looks it. That is why it is comfy.

Hard, slim saddles look fantastic, but have little give in them.

Gell and foam inserts can help out a bit here, but...

Just had a Gel installed on my 2up, but just my seat, she told me to leave hers alone, did what I was told, lol. Will let you know after this weekend how it feels after a good ride.

I had a sundowner on my last bike, 04 RKC and it was a huge improvement over the stock seat. When I got my new bike a 04 RK Police It had a reach seat for a runt and I had to get a new one. I was going to get another Sundowner because the other was so comfy. I stumbled on a Corbin with backrest and double chrome rails for way less than a Sundowner, At fist I thought it was too hard bt I liked the seating position, it seems lower and back more. After I took a 900 mile ride that I did many times on the Sundowner it dawned on me that the Corbin was way more comfy on the long haul. I used to NEED to move around and add a sheepskin to be comfortable with the Sundowner and NEVER needed it with the Corbin. Corbi is a dual tour.

Went from a sundowner to a Corbin solo. I've had Corbins on the last 4 bikes. Great seats. You'll think too firm at first but after 1000 mi or so you'll never look back....unless your walking away from the bike.

I guess everybody's a$$ is different. I've had 2 Corbins (solo/2-up) and never really liked either one. Maybe I should try a C&C.

For the money, you just can't beat a Sundowner saddle.

My wife (BSR) likes the Sundowner more then the C&C Sports Touring saddle.

Both my C&C Solo and Sports Touring saddles are by far my favorite!

Good Luck,

YB

I went from a Mustang wide smooth tour to a Sundowner and it's way better...This is my 3rd Sundowner, I would look at C&C or Saddlemen...Every *** is different so seats are very subjective...Good luck...

Bought my SG with a sundowner and although comfy, i feel like it pushed me too far forward. I've been eyeing mustangs because i loved the wide tour seat on my sporty and they claim to put you back a little. my concern with that is the old lady losing room though.

Im gonna try floorboard extensions and adjusting my 360 degree highway pegs first.

I went to a Sargent seat, but put back the Sundowner seat as it was more comfortable
to me and I sit a little farther back on the Sundowner too. IMO
