Take the part off the bike and heat it up with a heat gun. Don't hold it directly in one spot. Kinda move the gun in a circular motion. It brings the pigments back to the surface and will look new again. Just done this to my Ford p/u bed caps and windshield shroud and it all looks brand new again. May not work on that particular piece but its worth a shot.
